It’s always a great time when I get to spend some R & R with my family.  One of my very best friends just happens to be my brother’s wife Darlene.  We have many interests in common.  My vintage Airstream trailer is on my brother’s property in Michigan.  We spent almost two weeks there this month which included a couple of trips to see fall colours.  Surprisingly both the trip up to NW Michigan and the River Cruse in Bay City didn’t yield much of a colour show.  However, we did get a bit of colour in central Michigan.  No paintings this time but some nice photos.

Lady Gouldian Finch Pair., originally uploaded by photographerpainterprintmaker.

I am so pleased with my Blue Lady Gouldien pair. They have raised me 8 babies. This is the last time I will let them go to nest this year. They and their babies are in incredible shape. It is hard to breed Lady Gouldian’s. Many breaders opt to foster the eggs out to society finches. I feel that they need to be parent raised. I’m so happy this pair are such good parents.

YAY! MUD’s BACK!!, originally uploaded by photographerpainterprintmaker.

Well… Pugsley is happier than a pig in poo poo. The mud’s back! I on the other hand am going to have to strangle this mutt. He’s so proud to be muddy. He also loves water. I swear he gets muddy deliberately so he can get a bath. He runs right to the tub and waits like you see him here. He tries to drink the water from the shower hose. After I hose him down he want’s right back out again! GAH!! I wanted a lap dog. He’s anything but a lap dog. But, I would not trade him in for Love nor Money.

4-5ths, originally uploaded by photographerpainterprintmaker.

Here is another for Sunday Stills. My husband and I belong to the Essex – Kent Cage Bird Society. We raise cockatiels, and English Budgerigar’s. This photo was cropped in the Gimp. So as not to upset the parents, I used a flashlight to light the chicks. The photo was taken with my point and shoot Canon. Being responsible breeders, and due to the bad economy last year, we chose only to raise one nest of chicks. We have over thirty birds in our aviary. The hen is a rare variety. We were very pleased with this mating, and took home many trophies from this single nest. I will try to post photo’s of all the trophies, these tiny fuzzy babies brought home from the Eastern Canadian Classic Show of 2009. I will also post photo’s of them as they look now. We’ve kept these chicks to add to our breeding program.

This is my first attempt at the Sunday Stills challenge.  It’s taken me three days to try to remember what little html I know so I can post here.   I’m glad I started a couple days ahead.  I hope to be participating in more challenges.  We have a lot of pets, as we raise Cockatiels, and English Budgerigars. Since,  Friday was Pugsley’s  first day home, I decided to concentrate on him.  I have a lot more photo’s that I took on Friday, but I only put up three.  Hopefully, next time I will have more to say along with the photo’s.

Have a wonderful week everyone.
