Friday morning a colourful visitor came to dine on my front lawn. He is a Northern Yellow Shafted Flicker. I had to shoot this through my dirty screened in front window, so please excuse the fuzzyness. I really need to do some window cleaning. I switched to video mode just in time to catch him fly away. Needless to say he made my day.

We have a lot of doves that I like to watch, and listen to, as they coo. I love the red on the back of his neck. He looks like a dove with a long beak.
